On the occasion of Democracy Day, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the rule of law, the protection of fundamental human rights, and the encouragement of active citizen participation in the democratic process, regardless of political affiliation.
In his address delivered in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara highlighted the importance of ensuring safety and security for all citizens through comprehensive security strategies. He emphasized his administration's focus on fostering a government characterized by inclusivity, transparency, and accountability.
Reflecting on Nigeria's 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, the Governor called for unity across political lines to create a society where every citizen's voice is valued and empowered, enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute to the collective progress of Rivers State.

Despite the setbacks faced in the state's democratic journey, Governor Fubara expressed confidence in the resilience of the people of Rivers State.
