During a fiery interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Baba-Ahmed dropped this bombshell, saying, *“Labour Party’s arms are open to welcome back Peter Obi.
I would like Peter Obi to win the nomination of Labour Party and contest in 2027, with or without me.”* But then came the twist: *“In 2027, unless two certain people I have tremendous respect for decide not to take it, Except if that happens, I can tell you Peter Obi for sure. If he doesn’t, and one other person but I won’t call his name from the South; if they don’t contest... I can be in the game.”*
Baba-Ahmed was quick to remind Nigerians that the presidency isn’t a desperate chase for him, stating, *“My key ambition: stop the killings, stop the stealing.”* He also slammed rumors about defecting to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying he is *“not convinced about joining the ADC.”*
