Imo State First Lady Receives Presidential Aide on Women's Health, Reaffirms Commitment to Improving Healthcare Outcomes



Imo State First Lady, Chief Barr. (Dr.) Chioma Uzodimma, received a courtesy visit from Dr. (Mrs.) Adanna Steinacker, the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to the President on Women’s Health. Dr. Adanna, a proud daughter of Imo State, was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

During the visit, Dr. Adanna expressed her commitment to improving women's health and well-being, particularly in reducing infant and maternal mortality. She also emphasized her dedication to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3 and SDG 5) for good health, well-being, gender equality, and empowerment of women and girls.

The meeting was also attended by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu (UNJP), and the Executive Secretary of the Imo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Reverend Sister Dr. Maria-Joannes Uzoma. They appreciated Dr. Adanna's visit and reaffirmed Imo State's progress in reducing infant and maternal mortality through improved healthcare infrastructure and medical interventions.

Chief Barr. (Dr.) Chioma Uzodimma welcomed Dr. Adanna and assured her of her willingness to collaborate for the progress of Imo State and the country at large.
