Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, inaugurates two newly appointed government officials,

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has officially sworn in and inaugurated two newly appointed government officials, charging them to uphold excellence and serve the state diligently.

The new appointees include Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Meribole as Special Adviser on Projects and Rev. Dr. Annie Onu as the Executive Secretary of the Abia State Diaspora Commission.

During the ceremony at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Umuahia, Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s zero tolerance for corruption and underperformance, emphasizing the high expectations of Abians. He urged the officials to deliver their best, as only excellence will be accepted.

Dr. Meribole, a retired Permanent Secretary from the Federal Ministry of Aviation, has already been actively involved in the Abia Airport project. The Governor expressed confidence in his ability to oversee construction activities, maintain quality standards, and ensure timely project completion.

Rev. Dr. Onu, previously a member of the Abia Diaspora Commission, now takes on the role of Executive Secretary to strengthen connections between Abians abroad and the state. She is expected to coordinate diaspora engagements and facilitate their contributions to Abia’s development.

In their responses, both appointees expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for the opportunity to serve and pledged their commitment to advancing the administration’s vision for Abia State.

This appointment aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to engage capable hands in driving infrastructural and economic progress across the state.
