The Comprehensive Old Boys’ Association (COBA) has joined the family, friends, and well-wishers in mourning the passing of Apostle Gershom Tamuno-Adoki, who died at the age of 75.
In a heartfelt condolence letter dated August 14, 2025, the association, particularly the Class of 1971—honored the late Apostle’s enduring contributions as a student, leader, and guiding light in the institution’s history.

Apostle Tamuno-Adoki, remembered for his years of service as school captain, was described as a man of discipline, vision, and unwavering dedication to the ideals of the school.

His leadership, they said, helped shape the culture and spirit that still define Comprehensive College to this day.

The association extended its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, urging them to draw strength from the Apostle’s remarkable life and legacy. Special prayers were offered for his son, Tonye Tamuno-Adoki, a 1995 alumnus, asking for divine guidance and protection in this time of grief.

Closing their tribute with the enduring rallying cry, “Viva Comprehensive!”, the old boys pledged to keep Apostle Tamuno-Adoki’s memory alive, ensuring that his legacy continues to inspire generations to come.

The condolence message was formally signed by COBA leaders:

Idaimo Richard-Koko, Esq., President;
Owukori Hutton Da Vies, Secretary;
Dr. Abo Karibo,
Class Set 1971.
