In a bold push to strengthen civic participation and accountability in governance, Sons of Nigeria has announced the commencement of its “Rate Your Governor Challenge” for September 2025.
The initiative, officially kicking off on Thursday, September 4, 2025, invites citizens across the country to evaluate the performance of their state governors. Nigerians are encouraged to rate their leaders across five key thematic areas, each carrying a 20% score:
1. Security
2. Education

4. Transparency
5. Welfare
At the end of the exercise, participants are expected to combine their total ratings and post them publicly in the comment section of the official Sons of Nigeria page via the following link: FACEBOOK PAGE

According to the organizers, the “Rate Your Governor Challenge” is designed not only to foster dialogue between citizens and leaders but also to encourage transparency, accountability, and performance-driven governance.
Speaking on the importance of the campaign, the Deputy Director General of Sons of Nigeria, Dr Edoja, noted:
“The future of our nation is shaped not by luck but by the conscious choices we make. Through this challenge, Nigerians can express their voices constructively and hold their leaders accountable in ways that inspire better governance.”
The campaign is expected to gain traction across social media platforms, where citizens are already sharing their views about governance in their respective states. By quantifying performance through citizen feedback, Sons of Nigeria hopes to provide a grassroots-driven report card for leadership in the country.
This marks another step in the organization’s broader mission of promoting civic responsibility, patriotism, and transparent governance.
As the month of September unfolds, the call to action is clear:
“Rate your governors. Shape your future. Strengthen Nigeria.”
