In a shocking revelation, Aliyu Audu, the former Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs to President Bola Tinubu, has unveiled the reasons behind his departure from the APC-led administration as the 2027 elections approach. During a revealing interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Audu made it clear that his decision stems from a deep commitment to foster a more inclusive and accountable Nigeria.
He criticized the Tinubu administration for allegedly prioritizing self-interest over national unity and accused the government of abandoning the campaign promises made to citizens prior to the 2023 elections. “It’s a matter of principle, living for something greater than oneself,” Audu stated, emphasizing his belief that Nigeria can still be fixed.
Drawing parallels with Tinubu's political history, especially his opposition to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s dominance in the Southwest during the early 2000s, Audu accused the president of employing similar divisive tactics. He boldly vowed to remove President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, insisting that the next leader must be one chosen by the people.
