To appreciate the gravity of this situation, we must first glance back at Nigeria's tumultuous political history. 

Since gaining independence in 1960, the nation has oscillated between military rule and fragile democratic governance. The return to civilian rule in 1999 was heralded as a new dawn, yet the actions of many politicians suggest a persistent desire among the elite to maintain control rather than empower the populace.

The Allure of Defections 

Why are so many politicians flocking to the APC? The motivations are as varied as they are revealing.
